Ranked among the "75 Best Golf Resorts" by Golf Digest, PGA village beautifully lays out 54 holes of championship golf at PGA Golf Club. And if you want a few more practice swings before you hit the links, you can take lessons from the highest-caliber PGA professionals here. Fairwinds Golf Course in Fort Pierce is one of the top courses on the Treasure Coast, widely known for its well-bunkered greens and occasional wild hog sightings. The Saints of Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie Trail, and Indian Hills are a few more popular public courses in the area.

A masterpiece by its very nature, St. Lucie County provides its residents with many opportunities to have fun while learning something new. One of St. Lucie County's most popular community activities is its Guided Nature Program, where residents can explore the local preserves while being safely guided by area experts. 

Educational opportunities

Children living in the area are served by St. Lucie Public Schools, which operates more than 35 schools in total. The county is also home to a few magnet schools, which local students can apply to and partake in unique programs. Many students in the county continue their educations at one of the area's nearby post-secondary institutions, including Indian River State College and the University of Florida.
